upcoming events in the hornacek family

monday afternoon, kevin called me to tell me the good news and the not so good news. he has been promoted to a master home theater technician with best buy! (those are orange-cream cupcakes that i made for kev to celebrate!) perfect timing since two weeks ago they cut back his hours, now he will be back to his normal hours and getting a raise! he is also going to be trained to do t.v. calibrating, i have no idea what that means, which makes this is a double promotion. such a blessing for our family! they will be sending kevin to minnesota for a week of training. thats the not so good news. we have decided to leave for disneyland a little later than planned and just had to change around a few things, so we are still going! karen and steve have been so gracious and flexible with us at this time. we will head home from disneyland and will probably stop half-way and stay in monterey overnight. i love the beach and it is a neccessity that we go at least once during the summer. so that makes up for the stress of having to change our trip around. it will be a wonderful family vacation!

the saddest news that comes out of all of this is that i will be without a husband and kyri will be without a daddy for 6 days. what am i going to do with myself? a couple of my girlfriends have offered to stay with me overnight so that will make things a little bit easier. kyri is such a good girl, but she is 2. by the time kevin usually gets home at night, i need a break! he always helps with bath time and cleaning up from dinner. i guess i will get a taste of what it is like for single mothers. this time apart from my husband is going to be really hard for me. having some girl time will be so nice and adult conversation, which i so need!

at the end of this long long long week...we will be packing up the car and heading to disneyland. oh the craziness. i just have to keep my eyes focused on our trip because i know it is going to be wonderful!
