daddy's day.

a day to celebrate daddy...da-da...dad. a day devoted to kyri and kaden's wonderful father. we spent the afternoon loving on kevin and telling him just how much he makes us smile! we went out to lunch, tried out a new mexican restaurant. we cuddled on the couch, while watching a movie...kev's one request. we gave daddy his gifts, which he loved. fun home-made gifts for the one we love so much! plus, some new clothes for my skinny husband. kyri picked out a sweet star wars shirt. she was so excited to give it to him! for our father's day dinner, i made short-ribs, cheesey grits, and broccoli. we invited the haskins family over for games and dessert. we played apples to apples. always lots of laughs! it was a perfect day. lots of family time. yummy food. lots of love. kev is beyond a blessing to our little family. the way he cares for his children, melts my heart everyday. kyri and kaden light up with joy when they are with their daddy. we cherish our kevin love and all that he does for our family. so giving. so patient. so in love with his babies. he sure is a super awesome dad!

oh happy day!

big boy haircut.

three haircuts before his first birthday...yep. kaden got his third haircut from mommy. i can't even believe how much hair he has. now that it is summer and oh so hot, i needed to cut it again. and let me tell you, it was not easy! i put him in his booster chair and put on a baby einstein movie. kev gave him snacks and away i went! he was not having it so he was wiggling all over the place. i was able to get most of it cut, but had to do the touch ups when he was taking his bath. he is such a handsome boy! i really do love lovin' on my son.

growing too fast.

cute as can be.

climber.

all kaden wants...is to be big. he is such a little climber. he no longer wants to be in his excersaucer, he just wants to be next to it and show off his standing skills. we just lowered his crib because now he is standing up when i go in there to get him out of his bed...which i love. so adorable. if you are sitting on the floor playing with kaden, he will just make his way over to you so he can climb on or over you. that usually means you will get drooled on too. he just cut his first top tooth. he already has two tiny teeth on the bottom. he hasn't been extra fussy with the teething, just a drool-face. two months and our teething boy will be celebrating his first birthday...don't even get me started.

i am loving this stage with kaden. ten months is a good age. so crazy and so fun! he is talking all the time, in his own precious language. sometimes i can't even stand how cute it is. i'm not quite ready for him to start walking...that will be a whole new adventure. one at a time please. can't he just stay this tiny forever? our kaden boy is making us smile more and more each moment we share with him. having a son is simply wonderful.

already in need of another haircut.

little man.

fairytale town.

how is that we've lived here for 5 years and have never been to fairytale town as a family? it is just the cutest place ever! my mom used to go there when she was a little girl and i remember going there when i was little, when we would go to sacramento to visit my grandma. a few weeks ago, we planned a trip to fairytale town with our playgroup. our little family, as well as lauri and her boys, were the only ones able to go. kyri and gabriel were so excited to explore together! it was a beautiful day. not too crowded. perfect weather. we packed our lunches and plenty of snacks. the kids loved all of the climbing...and the abundance of slides! i took a bazillion pictures. i just can't help myself. before heading home, we walked through a nearby flower garden and over to the park. we really enjoyed our time in such a fun-filled place! kyri is already asking to go back and bringing grandma and grandpa when they come to visit. sounds like a good plan to me!
