two months have gone by since i gave birth to a beautiful baby boy...crazy. my days go by faster than i would like, but i'm enjoying every minute with this little love. kaden just had his well-baby check-up and he is now up to 11 lbs. 4 oz. my good eater is getting those chubbies we've been waiting for! rollie-pollie thighs are my most favorite thing ever. so delicious. he is in the 38% for both height and weight. good spot to be. it wasn't fun to hold him while he got his two-month vaccines. breaks my heart. he was pretty tough and only cried for a minute. they gave him a new one orally, the rotavirus vaccine, which he downed like a champ. he din't have any reactions to any of them, not even a fever, which was good. so thankful for two healthy little ones. such a blessing.
kaden is doing much better with sleeping. we moved him to his crib and he has adjusted well. we are still swaddling our little bundle, which he loves. we have also stopped using the binky when we put him down for naps and at night. self soothing is one thing we strongly believe in. kyri was and still is such a great sleeper because we started her young. it is hard at first, but it gets easier. kaden only cries for a few minutes and then he's out. sometimes he doesn't even cry at all. we actually had a huge victory today...he slept through the night! wooohoo! baby wise is the best. for the past few weeks, he would wake up at the same time every night...3:30 on the dot. so we tried changing his diaper, swaddling him, and putting him back to bed. he would go back to sleep so we knew it was out of habit, not hunger. after four nights of doing that, he slept until 6:30 am this morning. his last feeding was at 10:30 pm so we had 7 and a half hours of full sleep. amazing. so proud of him!
kaden is such a happy boy! we are just in love with his beyond precious smile. he gets so excited when we talk to him. smiles from ear to ear! he also gets all giddy when he sees himself in his mirror. so cute. kyri is still madly in love with her brother. she gives him more kisses than he can probably handle. she always wants to help me burp him and brings him toys to play with. she will be so happy when he can interact with her more. we just hope her love for him only grows and the excitement of having a little brother doesn't fade. it melts our hearts to watch them together. we love our little family. our evenings are the best time of day because we are all together. our life is now complete.
