red. white. blue.

this fourth of july was extra special because grandma and grandpa were here!  it had been almost a year since we had last seen them (how did that happen?!) so we were just a little bit excited for their arrival!  i took so many pictures when they were here so i'm breaking up their visit into a couple posts.  here are some fun pictures from our day celebrating our freedom!

not only were grandma and grandpa here, but uncle andy came up and so did my sister, her boyfriend, and daughter melody.  it was a house full of love!  we went to the downtown lincoln parade in the morning.  it has become a family tradition and the kids just love it...even in the hot july heat.  we spent the rest of the afternoon at the house.  for dinner, we barbecued up some burgers and ate lots of fresh corn on the cob.  i made berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert...perfect summer treat!   it was too hot to really be outside, but we did make sure to head down to the park for the awesome fireworks show!  lincoln never disappoints.  we love living in a small town.  they always make holidays so special for families!

the horses and the firetrucks were the highlights for buddy.

two beautiful ladies.
