birthday girl.

can it be true? i have a five year old. unbelievable. this was a big birthday in the hornacek household...our precious kyri turned five years old! she has been counting down for this day for months now. i'm not sure what it is about being five, but to her, it was a pretty big deal. i think one of the coolest things is that she can now hold up all five fingers on one hand when someone asks her how old she is. she makes me laugh because when she's getting dressed, she gets mad when the tag on her clothes says "size 4." it's all about the number 5. pretty awesome being such a big girl now!

on kyri's birthday, we spent the day loving on our sweet girl. we've made it a tradition to always have a special breakfast on your birthday, with muffins or pancakes, and we make sure to sing "happy birthday" too. kyri wanted this yummy gluten-free cinnamon coffee cake that has become a family breakfast favorite. kyri opened her gifts from mommy and daddy...barbie stuff! if she could play with any of her toys all day long, it would be her barbies. she just loves changing their outfits and doing their hair. so she was pretty excited to get a whole new wardrobe for her barbie dolls! we also took our sweet girl to red robin for lunch. she got her free birthday meal and yellow balloon, matching her outfit of course. we went home and got everything ready for her pinkalicious birthday party at chuck e. cheese's that evening...photos coming soon! it really was a perfectly perfect day with our precious daughter. she brings so much joy to our lives and surprises us everyday with her knowledge and love for her family and friends. i love you, kyri girl!
