this thursday, we FINALLY find out if this teeny tiny baby is a boy or girl! i seriously could not be any more excited than i am right now! i feel like i've been counting down the days for so long. at my doctors apt., i will also be discussing with him my desire to have a natural childbirth. i know, am i crazy?! with kyri, i had an epidural and i have no complaints. i have just really felt empowered to have this next baby drug-free. thanks to many close friends who have experienced natural childbirth, i have received a lot of encouragement and support. i guess i'm just a little worried about delivering at a hospital because they don't always make that choice very easy. they just want to keep you hooked up and keep you medicated. so pray that my doctor will be 100% supportive (he really is a great doctor!) and that my questions will be answered. kevin is all for being my coach, as well as my mom and possibly kevin's mom too (i really hope she will be here for the birth!). as women, this is what are bodies were created to do...so i know I CAN DO IT!
after this appointment, i think i will then start the whole nesting process and really start to prepare for this baby. if we are having a girl, there will be a little less stress because we pretty much already have everything. we have more girl clothes than we know what to do with...and everything baby is pink. at least our stroller is brown and blue! if we have a boy, there will be lots of shopping to do, yard sales to attend, and hopefully score some hand-me-downs. our plan at this point is to make the office into kyri's room. there isn't much in there, other than our computer desk, which we will just have to find another place for. kyri's room will become the baby's room and when guests come over, they will sleep in there. we are going to need to get rid of a lot of stuff to reorganize, but i'm actually looking forward to that part! i love spring cleaning and it is going to make this transition much smoother if i feel organized and ready. we would have loved to move into a house before baby arrives, but we are just praising God for a place we can afford and that my husband has a good job. my thoughts of what i "need" has shifted to...being thankful for what i "have". so tiny baby, we are so excited to meet you and to have you join our little life here in lincoln!
we are also counting down the days until we leave for omaha! we will be getting on a plane and heading to the midwest to spend a week with kevin's family. it has been over 2 years since we have been out there, so we so excited! kyri talks about going to omaha everyday and going to the zoo. they have an awesome zoo and she keeps telling me, "mom, we are going to the zoo with grandma and grandpa on tuesday to see the animals." she just has that day in her mind, for some reason. we will also be celebrating easter with them, which is such a treat. we never get to celebrate holidays with kev's family because of different work schedules. i'm really looking forward to kyri having memories of being at grandma and grandpa's house. such precious moments to remember and i know she will just be in heaven the entire trip. we will also get to see auntie jen and uncle d.j. too! it looks like patti's brother and his family will be coming to visit for part of our trip too...full house! they have never met kyri so i know it will be good to see them. it really is going to be a wonderful trip...what a blessing that we get to go! let the packing begin!

i had a natural childbirth, and yes, you are crazy. :o) but i guess it's different for every woman, and you have to experience it to understand it.
