san francisco zoo.

day trip to the san francisco zoo and the beach...best family day EVER! the weather was beyond perfect, sunny with a cool breeze. we went on a monday, so there were no crowds. the kids soaked in every minute of seeing all the amazing animals and running around until their little feet just couldn't go anymore. there was so much to see and do! i can't believe i've lived in northern california my whole life and have never been to the san francisco zoo. one word...beautiful. the landscape, the wildlife, the animals. oh, and did i mention it's literally right across the street from the beach? now that's my kind of zoo!

we got there when the zoo opened and stayed until the zoo closed. we brought our own lunch because we knew we probably couldn't eat anything they had to offer. crazy moment of the day...while enjoying our sandwiches, a flock of seagulls swooped down and took kyri's entire sandwich! poor girl. they lingered by us the whole time we ate. totally gross and totally annoying. after exploring the rest of the zoo, we ended our adventure at the children's zoo...kaden's favorite part of the day! he would have stayed with the ducks all day long. he kept saying, "duck" and "quack! quack!" they also have a huge play place too with sand, swings, and slides. such a perfect zoo for small children, lots of hands-on fun! kyri loved getting all her energy out, climbing and running. she kept asking us all day, "is it time to go to the beach now?" she couldn't wait to get her toes in the sand! i took over 400 pictures on our trip so even though this post is FULL of photos, there are so many more! i just can't help myself when i'm surrounded by God's beautiful creations...including the three most important people in my life. i saved the beach photos for the next post so you'll have to wait. enjoy a few of the moments from our splendid day in san francisco!
